Ham Radio 2014 in Friedrichshafen, Germany

DARA will be sending a team to Friedrichshafen, Germany again this year to set up a booth at Ham Radio 2014. Ham Radio last year had approximately 15,000 Hams in attendance through the three day show making it the second largest ham event in the world. We will be marketing Dayton Hamvention®, Dayton Amateur Radio Association and the Dayton, Ohio area to amateur radio operators from around the world. We will also be soliciting DARA membership during the show. Over the last two years we have gained seventy international members from all over Europe, Africa, and South America.

Your team this year includes Janese Brooks KD8DGB, Michael Crawford KC8GLE, Joe Eisenberg K0NEB, Nancy Krodel KC8RMT, William Serrato KD8GIK, Charles Wright K8MDB and Ron Cramer KD8ENJ. Don BuBon N6JRL will also be attending and will be helping us at the booth. We have been meeting and preparing for this year’s event since the 2013 team returned last June.

If you would like to see us in action and some of the exhibits, events and attendees, we will be live streaming video from the show site on June 27-29, 2014. You can go to the club website W8BI.org and have a link to the live video on the home page. Or you can go directly to Ustream.com and search for DARALIVE. Don’t forget that Germany is six hours ahead of Dayton time. The live feed is being recorded and you will be able to access that at your convenience. We plan on editing the video and will have a short presentation on the trip at a membership meeting in the fall.
