The leaves are turning, the evenings are getting cooler, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time for the DARA Harvest Party! This annual fall get-together is one of the best chances all year to relax with fellow members away from the radios and the meeting agenda. Catch up with old friends, put faces to the callsigns you hear on the air, and enjoy an evening of good food and good company at the clubhouse. Join us on Friday, October 16, with food served at about 6:00 PM.

On the Grill:

Grill Master KB8UEY will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs, so come hungry.

Chili Cook-Off:

The Harvest Party chili cook-off is back, with prizes for the winners. If you have a chili recipe you’re proud of, now is the time to show it off. There’s no need to sign up in advance. Just bring your chili ready to serve in a slow cooker, and plan to have it set up by 5:30 PM. Categories will be announced the day of the event.

Winners will be asked to submit their recipes for publication in the RF Carrier, so the rest of us can try making them at home.

Bring a Dessert:

Members are asked to bring their favorite dessert to share. Homemade or store-bought, everything is welcome on the dessert table.

Mark your calendar, start working on that chili recipe, and we’ll see you at the clubhouse on October 16!
