Well, many are probably wondering, the planning for Field Day 2012 has already begun.  Our location is not firm yet, but we are planning on holding it in Montgomery County and do have a location in mind.

What has been envisioned so far is the following…

Class 3A with a GOTA Station

Operating the entire 24 hour period

Operating SSB, CW, and Digital

Have some sort of picnic style dinner Saturday evening.

What we will be in need of…

Power source(s)

Radios

Antennas

Laptop/Notebook/Netbook type computers for logging

Also we will need a general idea of how many operators we will have interested and what times you would be available.  I might consider expanding to a 4A if there is enough equipment and enough operators.  I would rather have people sitting around waiting on a radio to be available than a radio sitting around waiting to have an operator.

We have a large enough club that there is no reason we can’t make a decent push at this event and submit a decent score.

Also we will be holding a training session prior to Field Day to get folks up to speed on the goals of Field Day, the logging software, and other specifics that would be of use to both veterans of Field Day and rookie Filed Day attendees.  Details on the training session and the location will be posted as they become available.
